The illusion of stillness.
Daring the flow
Washed up and beached by flood and wind.
A memory of a figurehead breaking into the waves
The last post catches the ripples.
Like broken ship hulls, the trees await the ebb of the flood.
As the chimney smokes, the river flows, the work of man is swept away.
In the morning rain, the city takes on a different feel.
